The Special Prize was awarded to the Center for Affordable Water and Sanitation Technology (CAWST) for its structured approach to disseminating knowing and capacity-building in the developing countries in the water and wastewater sectors. Following on from the success of the first edition, the SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT – Water For All Foundation repeated the event: the "Water For All" Awards is designed to encourage innovative projects of a technical, economic or social nature on the topic of water and wastewater in the developing countries. Once again, this year the Awards attracted some 40 applications from countries all around the world. The Prizes awarded to the successful institutions are designed to promote the winning projects and help them pursue their research projects in order to improve access to water and sanitation in the developing countries.
