Abstract: In many countries the idea of competition policy is new and implementation is still in a nascent stage; the research doesn’t so much influence policy, as contribute to debate, inform and educate the public, and motivate the political process towards fresh possibilities. While implementation issues are crucial, good implementation starts with good policy. The project has produced some studies that could guide policy makers in formulating and establishing a workable competition policy. Support should continue for capacity building in this field. More case studies are required to better understand what policies and regulations are suited to a developing economy.
