Knowledge management and value creation in Latin American research centers : final report

Abstract

R&D Centers (RDC) are organizations where knowledge and innovation management has a high priority for increasing efficiency of knowledge generation and creativity processes and their translation in intellectual assets. At present, these capacities are essential for competitiveness environment where customers demand new and better products and services. // In Latin American countries, public policies stimulate researchers according to traditional criteria mainly based on number of publications and graduated students. Successful technology transfer and income generation are not sufficiently considered as criteria for evaluating research staff, technical units and the organization as a whole.
