| Abstract: | The pioneering activities of the UbuntuNet Alliance have stimulated unprecedented growth within the research and education community in Eastern and Southern Africa, starting at the human and institutional level and now moving on to the infrastructure level. The dream of connectivity equity for Africa based researchers has started becoming a reality. // The current state of play of research and education networking within the UbuntuNet Alliance region, capturing challenges as well as strategies, is discussed. Specific focus is given to the Policy and Implementation Master Plan. |
