This issue marks the third year of publication for the e-newsletter NUANCE, and the fifth year for the UbuntuNet Alliance. Concerning research, the Alliance continued to be consortium member in the EU FP7 GLOBAL project and joined a new Consortium, ERINA4Africa, (Exploiting Research INfrastructures potential for boosting Research and Innovation in Africa). In terms of NRENs, the Alliance has witnessed the expansion of its membership to include Ethiopia and Somalia (SomaliREN), and the MoRENet (Mozambique Research and Education Network).
